What is RED January?
The aim of the "RED January" challenge is to simply get you doing some form of movement every day during January from the 1st to the 31st!
Do as much or as little as you want or as you are able to do!
RED January is a nationwide movement for mental wellbeing, led by the community, for the community.
Join thousands of people this January by moving every day, to beat the winter blues away.

Research from the University of Oxford shows that more than half of RED'ers experience a significant improvement in happiness and a reduction in anxiety, and 74% report being more active than usual during the campaign, all whilst raising funds to help others in the community.
So whether you’re already part of the RED community, or this will be your first January, join the thousands taking part for their mental wellbeing and set your movement goals today.

I'll post a short recordings into my RED January Challenge Facebook group during January, for you to do at any time, you can complete a recording at any time and you can count it as your activity for the day.
The recorded sessions will be between 5 and 15 minutes in length, so perfect if you're new or returning to exercise.
If you've already got plenty of exercise in your routine, you can just do these recordings as additional extras!
You won't need any special equipment and is suitable for all levels and abilities- as long as you are medically fit to exercise.
Of course, these recordings are just suggestions... if you'd rather go for a walk/ run/ swim/ exercise class, then that is fine and you can mark that on your RED January calendar!
The aim is to do SOMETHING every day, whatever it might be.

Hopefully by letting everyone know that you're taking part in RED January, we can try to raise funds and awareness for "Sport in Mind" which highlights the importance of movement/activity and sport for good mental health.

There is also a Calendar on the website which you can print off and mark each day with what activity you have done (downloads)
If you wish you can even purchase a RED January T-shirt from the website or from Decathlon.
However, if you just want to do this January Challenge without registering on the RED website that is fine- but please do make a donation if you are joining in with the challenge, if you can afford to 🙏
Please just complete my Health Questionnaire before taking part in any of my recorded sessions
All I ask is that you complete the PARQ health questionnaire before taking part, which will highlight if you need medical clearance, it should only take a couple of minutes to complete and submit.
